This page explains how to delete your Lagos Life account, a game by Vatar, and what happens to your data when you do.
How to request deletion
Email support@vatar.com with the subject "Delete my Lagos Life account". This is the only way to delete a Lagos Life account.
In your email, please:
- send it from the email address registered to your Lagos Life account;
- include your Lagos Life username; and
- confirm that you want your account permanently deleted.
We may ask you to confirm your request or verify your identity, to make sure nobody else can delete your account. We'll confirm by email once the deletion has been completed.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, it is closed straight away and can no longer be used to sign in. Your profile, username and avatar are removed from the game, and your account details (such as your display name, email address and password data) and gameplay data are deleted or anonymised once they are no longer needed for the purposes below.
What we may keep, and why
Lagos Life has a shared player economy, so some records may be kept for a limited period, or longer where the law requires, for:
- payment, purchase and transaction records, for accounting, tax and dispute handling;
- the game's transaction ledger, including transfers involving other players;
- fraud, abuse and security records, including moderation history; and
- compliance with legal obligations and the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Where possible, retained records are separated from information that directly identifies you. Messages you sent to other players may remain visible to them.
Game Naira and purchases
Deleting your account permanently removes your Game Naira, items, property and progress. These cannot be recovered or refunded once the account is deleted. See the Lagos Life Terms of Use for details.
Deleting some data without deleting your account
You can also ask us to delete specific information without closing your account. Email support@vatar.com with what you'd like removed and we'll tell you what's possible.
