What actually happens when I press SOS?
Two things, in order. Every emergency contact you have listed is alerted immediately with the situation and your live location, including your movement, so the people closest to you know first. The alert is then triaged to the service that fits: police if it is armed, a safety agent if it is not, EMS for a medical emergency. In Lagos we also dispatch our own certified responders.
Does it work outside Lagos?
Yes. Alerting your emergency contacts and triaging the alert to the right service works anywhere you have signal. What is Lagos-only for now is our own responder network, the units we send ourselves. Outside Lagos the alert still goes out and is still routed, it just reaches local services rather than a Vatar responder.
What happens if I trigger SOS by mistake?
You get a 5-second cancel window before anything goes out, and even after that the response center calls you first. Cancelling a false alarm is free. We would rather ten false alarms than one missed emergency.
Is this the same as the business plans?
No. Personal cover protects you as a person, wherever you are. The business and estate plans protect a place, with AI cameras and on-site intelligence. Many members run both, and everything lives in one app.
How do I sign up?
Download the Vatar app, verify your number and you are covered in under two minutes. It is free to join, and you are only billed per verified dispatch. No hardware, no site survey.
What is the Vatar SOS Button?
A small device for your keys or bag that pairs with the Vatar app over Bluetooth, so your phone stays with you but never has to come out. Hold it for a few seconds and it quietly raises an SOS: your emergency contacts are alerted with your live location and the alert is triaged to the right service, even when you cannot reach your phone. It is a one-time price with no subscription, and pre-ordering saves against the launch price. Pick your country in the nav to see it.
